Over Peover Women’s Institute Meeting

The President welcomed 27members and 1 guest, a good turnout for a cold February night.
Our new chairs had been delivered and proved to be comfortable and easy to move around.
A list of dates for the forthcoming events that had been discussed last month was circulated to members. These included a trip to the Bury Market, the Manchester Art Gallery Exhibition, Wentworth House and many others including a proposed overnight trip to London to visit Buckingham Palace.
The Cheshire Show leaflets were available to anyone who was interested in participating.
The Queens 90th birthday celebration will be held in Over Peover on the 12th June 2016 .The Parish Council will be organising the event. The Over Peover WI agreed support by providing tea and homemade cakes and support on the day.
A list of country walks provisionally planned for 2016 has now been circulated to all members, which look very exciting.
The evening’s visitor was Alan Hayhurst, ‘Lady Killers’ an interesting and sometimes amusing talk on real life murders going back to the Victorian times and the various methods that they used .
We meet at 7.30pm on the last Thursday of the month at Over Peover Village Hall. There is a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and the speakers are invariable of a very high standard as are the homemade cakes and teas to follow. New members are most welcome.
