Firstly, I should like to thank those of you who replied to our Broadband survey and for your patience in awaiting further developments.
As you can imagine this is a complex subject and, with the pace of current technological development, is constantly changing.
With this in mind we have arranged a meeting with officers of Cheshire East who are engaged in investigating the provision of high speed broadband throughout the county, and are in discussion with a number of providers.
We hope at that meeting to obtain information that will help us to make progress with our task of giving the residents of Over Peover the opportunity to obtain a reliable high speed network that is cost effective.
Initially we felt it wise to enter into discussions with BT and extensive correspondence has been exchanged over the last 6 months, from which we can only draw the conclusion that BT's priority is to concentrate on the larger cities and towns, as areas such as ours, do not, in their eyes, justify the high investment required.
As progress is made we shall keep you informed.
Kind regards,
Kathy Doyle
